Honoring the hard work and dedication of our local civil servants, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in The Woodlands hosted its eight annual “Civil Service Appreciation Luncheon” on September 13.
More than 150 police officers, dispatchers, firefighters, EMS staff, mounted patrol, and other public safety personnel were treated to a delicious four-course lunch compliments of Shelli Moran, Operating Partner of Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in The Woodlands, and Michael Eccles, Chef Partner.
While the restaurant is not normally open for lunch, the generous duo and staff opened the restaurant’s doors and their hearts to treat the public safety personnel to a delicious menu of filet mignon with barbeque shrimp, Fleming’s potatoes, a sautéed medley of vegetables, Fleming’s house salad, and chocolate mousse cake. To-go meals were specially prepared for those who couldn’t leave their post to join the luncheon, such as public safety officers and 911 dispatchers.
Musician Ramon Torres donated a live music performance, adding a festive flair to the ambiance.
“This is my favorite event, as it is truly rewarding to take a moment and thank our civil servants for all that they do for our community,” Moran said. “These people are out there protecting us every day, and they deserve a special moment of recognition, and a delicious lunch!”

The canoe will be boarding passengers and the big tree will be all set for climbing. The river and the woodlands path will be ready for roaming and the cozy campfire will be blazing with pretend fun.
It’s all part of the fun when The Woodlands Mall celebrates the re-opening of The Magic Forest play area on Saturday, August 17. “We have missed all our little visitors since the play area closed earlier this summer,” says Noemi Cortez, marketing manager of The Woodlands Mall. “So, to announce and to celebrate the opening, we’re throwing a re-opening party and hope that everyone will come and join in the fun and discover the new location near jcpenney.”
