“CAROLING ON THE SQUARE” SERIES RETURNS TO WATERWAY SQUARE

DSC_5626_53709Waterway Square once again will host the popular “Caroling on the Square,” the first three Saturdays in December, with performances by local musicians who will put their own special touches on our holiday favorites.

Enjoy performances on December 7, 2013 by Dena Blue & The Blue Jazz Band, Girl Friday on December 14, 2013 and Brenda Guy on December 21, 2013.  Plus, Santa will make special appearances on December 7 and December 21.  Each of the musicians will perform from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

HOLIDAY SONGS AT WATERWAY SQUARE, TOWN GREEN PARK LIGHTS DRAW FAMILIES TO THE WOODLANDS

Waterway Square Fountains and TreeThe sights and sounds of the holidays will be everywhere in The Woodlands, from the bright, twinkling holiday lights in Town Green Park to the majestic, choreographed Fountains at Waterway Square which will perform to a selection of holiday songs beginning November 23, 2013.

Families can gather at Waterway Square for a musical performance of the fountain’s cascading waterfalls, booming water jets and colorful lights synchronized to Frosty the Snowman, Jingle Bells, Winter Wonderland, Feliz Navidad, Christmas Eve/Sarajevo and Wizards in Winter by Trans-Siberian Orchestra and The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.

The fountains will perform every fifteen minutes weekdays, from noon – 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 11 p.m., and weekends from noon – 11 p.m. through January 4, 2014.  In addition to the dancing fountains, the one-acre plaza will be highlighted by a 43-foot, lighted holiday tree, lit nightly at 5:30 p.m. from November 23, 2013 through Friday, January 3, 2014.

Winter Wonderland - Santa's Toy Company (low res)Nearby at Town Green Park, 2099 Lake Robbins Drive, families can experience lighted holiday displays among rows of brightly lit trees, doves, snowflakes and other illuminated holiday scenes. The park display is open nightly beginning at 5:30 p.m., November 23, 2013 through January 3, 2014.

In addition to eight illuminated doves on Lake Robbins Bridge, Donoho’s Jewellers Winter Wonderland, surrounding The Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center at the northeast corner of Lake Robbins and Six Pines Drive, visitors of all ages can stroll through an extraordinary fantasyland of magical, lighted toy soldiers, elves, doves, musical angels and snowmen every night from dusk until 11 p.m. Admission to Donoho’s Jewellers Winter Wonderland is free and open to the public November 23, 2013 through January 20, 2014.

Kona Grill Means Business With Opening in The Woodlands

This is the restaurant’s  first location in The Woodlands, and second in the Greater Houston Area.  Anticipating a late November opening, Kona Grill offers a combination of upscale American cuisine, a modern bar and award-winning sushi.

The sleek décor will include a large-scale fish tank designed by Living Color Aquariums (the stars of popular Nat Geo Wild show, Fish Tank Kings), sleek metal and mesh drapes and swanky lounge furniture. Guests will enjoy water walls, multiple fire places and a state-of-the-art wine rack.  The nearly 1,500 square-foot outside patio will provide fire tables for impending cool months and decorative shade structures for long Texas summers.

Kona Grill’s signature dishes, prepared in a scratch kitchen, include the Macadamia Nut Chicken, Big Kahuna Cheeseburger and a Passion Fruit Crème Brulee. The sushi menu offers rolls in three different categories: Chef’s Plates, Traditional Rolls and Kona Rolls, all made with fresh fish. Famous Kona Grill drinks include “designer cocktails” like the Hibiscus with pear vodka, “slender drinks”, all under 140 calories, and sake and wine options. Live At Night Brings Great Music to Waterway Square

Waterway Square will play host to Live At Night, a Saturday evening event that brings spectacular musical artists to The Woodlands, September 21 and 28, and October 5 and 12.

The entertainment schedule is as follows:

September 21 – The Buck Yeager Band

September 28 – The Level One Band

October 5 – Perry Richard

October 12 – David Dunn with Special Performance by Hannah Elchinger

The event takes place from 6  – 8 p.m.  every Saturday night. Bring your blankets and be sure to get there early to stake your ground!
