Recycle beyond the ordinary at the Township’s 3R Bazaar


Recycling goes beyond the ordinary when The Woodlands Township celebrates America Recycles Day at the 3R Bazaar on Saturday, November 9,

An opportunity for recycling unique commodities, the event will offer collection of plastic bags, alkaline batteries, plastic caps, corks, eyeglasses, clothing and block Styrofoam™. Shred-All Texas will provide secure on-site shredding of personal documents. A donation of five cans of food or $5 per bank box will benefit Interfaith Food Pantry.2013, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 8203 Millennium Forest Drive in The Woodlands.

The Woodlands Township to hold Veterans Day Tribute

Residents and businesses of The Woodlands are invited to attend The Woodlands Township Veterans Day Tribute, an inaugural event to honor veterans from The Woodlands. The Woodlands Township will hold the event at Town Green Park on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. All local veterans from all branches of service are welcome to participate.

A special tribute to all veterans will take place along with welcoming back veterans who have returned in the past year. In addition, a special announcement will be made about The Way Home, a Veterans‘ Memorial sculpture that will be placed in Town Green Park and will honor veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defending freedom.

National Night Out Public Safety Expo set for Saturday, September 21, 2013

Local, state and federal law enforcement and safety agencies will join residents of The Woodlands to celebrate the National Night Out community-wide kickoff celebration at Northshore Park, 2505 Lake Woodlands Drive, on Saturday, September 21, 2013, from noon to 3 p.m. This free event is coordinated by The Woodlands Township and will include public safety and crime-fighting demonstrations.

Climb inside an ambulance or FBI tank, explore the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office or ICE Mobile command units, try on SWAT or FBI gear, watch live demonstrations from Narcotic, Explosive Detection and Apprehension dogs and meet real crime scene investigators and Texas Rangers. Additional activities include music, food, and a kid zone complete with a bounce house, face painter, balloonist, crafts and games. New this year: a texting while driving simulator and seatbelt rollover simulator. K-9 demonstrations begin at 1 p.m.
