National Night Out Public Safety Expo set for Saturday, September 21, 2013

Local, state and federal law enforcement and safety agencies will join residents of The Woodlands to celebrate the National Night Out community-wide kickoff celebration at Northshore Park, 2505 Lake Woodlands Drive, on Saturday, September 21, 2013, from noon to 3 p.m. This free event is coordinated by The Woodlands Township and will include public safety and crime-fighting demonstrations.

Climb inside an ambulance or FBI tank, explore the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office or ICE Mobile command units, try on SWAT or FBI gear, watch live demonstrations from Narcotic, Explosive Detection and Apprehension dogs and meet real crime scene investigators and Texas Rangers. Additional activities include music, food, and a kid zone complete with a bounce house, face painter, balloonist, crafts and games. New this year: a texting while driving simulator and seatbelt rollover simulator. K-9 demonstrations begin at 1 p.m.

Township’s Public Safety Awards recognize the service of 16 honorees

The Woodlands Township honored 16 individuals from The Woodlands Fire Department, the  Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 4 at its  second annual Public Safety Awards. Held at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center on  September 7, 2013, the honorees were recognized for going the extra mile to make The  Woodlands a safe community.

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (September 9, 2013) – The Woodlands Township honored 16 public safety heroes for going the extra mile to make The Woodlands a safe community as The Woodlands Township hosted the Annual Public Safety Awards with the theme, “Honoring Those Who Serve.”
