Last week’s Memorial Hermann In the Pink of Health Luncheon presented by CB&I attracted more than 1,250 guests and netted more than $500,000 to benefit the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Breast and Bone Health Center Fund at Memorial Hermann Foundation. One hundred percent of the funds raised from the luncheon will stay in Montgomery County and will be allocated to three primary areas – education, technology and community outreach. Throughout the years, proceeds from the luncheon have enabled the purchase of state-of-the-art screening and diagnostic equipment like breast tomosynthesis; access to free mammograms and care for underserved women; educational resources for newly diagnosed patients; and workshops and retreats for cancer survivors to provide education and support to help them navigate through their cancer journey. The Woodlands Swim Team’s 2013 fundraiser for breast cancer awareness, “Let’s Kick Cancer,” was a smashing success. The team sold 250 pink swim caps in less than four hours and raised nearly $2,000 to benefit the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Breast and Bone Center Fund at Memorial Hermann Foundation. 100 percent of the money raised will stay in Montgomery County, helping to fund free mammograms for underserved women, educational materials for newly diagnosed patients, and more.
