ANADARKO PETROLEUM CORPORATION HOLDS CLOTHING DRIVE FOR INTERFAITH OF THE WOODLANDS

AnadarkoThe Woodlands, TX (Thursday, January 24, 2014) – For the fourth year in a row, employees throughout Anadarko Petroleum Corporation held a campus-wide clothing drive for Interfaith of The Woodlands Hand Me Up Shop.  More than twenty large boxes of donated clothes, shoes, belts and ties were collected during the drive.  The drive was held over a three day period and was promoted with lobby and elevator signage.  “The employees really look forward to holding the clothing drive every year for Interfaith.  Interfaith does so much for our community, and we are proud to give back through this effort,” said Mario Coll, Senior Vice President of Information Technology for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.

STEVE SANDERS AND DEBRA SUKIN NAMED HONORARY CHAIRS OF THE 2014 FIVE WHO SHARE LUNCHEON

steve sanders debra sulkinInterfaith of The Woodlands is pleased to announce that Steve Sanders, CEO of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, and Debra Sukin, CEO of St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital, CEO of Lakeside Hospital and Senior Vice President, St. Luke’s Health System, have been named the Honorary Chairs for the 2014 Five Who Share Spring Luncheon.    The annual spring event honors five outstanding community volunteers in the areas of Health, Seniors, Fine Arts, Youth and Education.  The winners are presented with a Service of Excellence Award during the luncheon which will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Marriot Waterway Hotel and Convention Center.

THE WOODLANDS CREEKSIDE PARK VILLAGE ASSOCIATION DONATES 406 POUNDS OF FOOD FOR INTERFAITH OF THE WOODLANDS

Winter FestivalThe Woodlands Creekside Park Village Association hosted its 5th annual Winter Festival and Chili Cook-off on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Rob Fleming Park.  Fun festivities included 30,000 pounds of snow for sledding, kids crafts, face painting, and a special food drive benefiting Interfaith of The Woodlands.  More than 406 pounds of food was collected during the festival.

Interfaith will provide food to more than 550 individuals and families in crisis during the month of December.  “Each year, the number of individuals and families needing our services grows.  It is because of our friends and neighbors like the residents of Creekside Park, that we are able to help the many people who rely on Interfaith, not just in December, but throughout the year,” said Dr. Ann Snyder, President and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands.

More than XXX people attended the Winter Festival and Chili Cook-Off.

Through the GIVING program for seniors, individual and groups can adopt a senior citizen who is in need or alone for the holiday and provide specific gifts that a senior has requested.  Both programs make a tremendous difference in the lives of community neighbors in need.

“We hope that our gifts will bring a little bit of relief and a lot of joy to those in the community who are less fortunate.  We want them to know that there are people who care about them,” said Interfaith donor, Teresa Ynigueq of St. Cyril of Jerusalem Orthodox Church. seniors this year.

LE TOUR DE WOODLANDS CYCLING EVENT A BIG SUCCESS!!

DSC00070The second annual Le Tour de Woodlands cycling event presented by Pentagon Freight Services was a big success with more than 400 riders cycling on two separate courses.  The event was held on Saturday, October 19 with the long and short courses beginning and ending at The Woodlands Township.  Each participant received an event t-shirt and fun family activities and refreshments followed the ride.

“We are thrilled at the success of this event.  It was wonderful to see so many families, individuals and cyclists come together to not only have fun but to support the important work Interfaith of The Woodlands does every day in our community,” said Dr. Ann Snyder, President and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands.

The cycling event was open to both individuals and families, and the field included a four year old who completed the short course, and an 83 year old participant who finished the 20 mile long course.

“The Woodlands has always been a bicycle friendly community, and this event was a great opportunity for people living in The Woodlands to come together for a safe, fun ride while raising money for a great organization,” said Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack, Honorary Chair of the Le Tour de Woodlands.

Post ride activities included refreshments, massages for participants, face painting and other fun activities.  “Pentagon Services was honored to serve as the presenting sponsor this year, and we look forward to an even bigger cycling event in 2014.  Pentagon Freight Services is dedicated to supporting the communities where we work and live,” said George Booth, Vice President of Pentagon Freight Services.
