Located at the northeast corner of Lake Robbins and Six Pines Drive, The Ice Rink is open daily through Monday, January 20, 2014 with operating hours Monday through Thursday, 3 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Friday, 3 p.m. – 11 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.; and Sunday, noon – 7 p.m.  The Ice Rink will also be open on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day.

The daily promotions are:

  • Monday – Bring a Friend Day. Simply purchase one full-price admission with skate rental and get the next one free.
  • Tuesdays – Resident’s Day. Residents of The Woodlands can save $3 off the weekday price of an adult admission ticket.
  • Wednesday – Dollar Off Day. Save $1 off the weekday price adult admission.
  • Thursday – Hot Cocoa Day. Skaters and non-skaters can receive one complimentary cup of Hot Cocoa at The Ice Rink indoor concession area.
  • Friday – Rock n’ Skate Night. Skaters can skate to great rockin’ music and a light show from 8 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Residents of The Woodlands can save $3 off ice rink admission

The Woodlands Ice Rink and Winter Wonderland_DSC9536 (low res)Every Tuesday, residents of The Woodlands can save $3 off an admission to the Ice Rink in The Woodlands Town Center produced by The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau.

To receive your $3 discount, simply present proof of residency in The Woodlands when purchasing an admission ticket at the Ice Rink on any Tuesday through January 20, 2014.

Weekday admission for a two-hour skate session at the Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center is $9.50 for adults and $5 for children 5 and under. Weekend admission for a two-hour skate session is $10.50 for adults and $6 for children 5 and under. All prices include skate rental.

Hours of operation are Monday – Thursday, 3 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Friday, 3 p.m. – 11 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.; and Sunday, noon – 7 p.m. The Ice Rink also is open during special holiday hours on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

GIVINGWith the holiday season in full swing,  Interfaith of The Woodlands is asking for the community’s help adopting local senior citizens and holding toy drives.

Each year, Interfaith hosts its annual holiday GIVING programs which include toy drives and the opportunity to adopt a senior citizen.  Interfaith collects new donated toys and gifts for children of all ages.  The gifts are distributed from a local fire station to families enrolled in the program.  By donating new, unwrapped gifts and gift cards, qualified parents are able to “shop” for their families through Interfaith’s Holiday Toy Drive.

Santa is Coming to the YMCA Saturday, December 7th

Santa Claus is coming to the YMCA! The South Montgomery County YMCA invites everyone to join them at their Annual Pictures with Santa, Saturday, December 7, 10am – 1pm at the Creekside YMCA. New this year – Breakfast with Santa including pancakes, breakfast tacos, donuts and bagels.

In collaboration with WoodlandsOnline and Interfaith, the holiday family fun will include  Pictures with Santa, Breakfast with Santa, holiday arts/crafts and games, face art, holiday refreshments, mascots, balloons, outdoor adventure activities and much more.

The Holiday Event is Free and YMCA membership is not required so bring family and friends! Even though admission is free, families are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to help replenish the Interfaith Food Pantry.

Parents are encouraged to bring their camera and capture the magical moment! No need to wait in the long lines at The Mall for a visit and photo with Santa. The pace is relaxed, kids have a chance to sit on Santa’s lap and have a chat and Mom and Dad can take all the photos they want, at no charge! YMCA photographer will be on hand too – PLUS every family will receive a complimentary 4×6 color print to take home.  Kids will have a chance to visit with Mrs. Claus too!

The more than 70 fashion boutiques in Market Street – The Woodlands will offer extended holiday shopping hours, beginning Black Friday, November 28, 2013 when its stores will be open an hour earlier from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Holiday shopping hours at the shopping, dining and entertainment destination through December 15 are Mondays through Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Shoppers can enjoy an extra hour of shopping from December 16 – 21 as Market Street stores will be open 9:00 a.m.  – 9:00 p.m.  Last minute shopping hours on Sunday, December 22 are 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 23 are from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and on Christmas Eve from 9:00 a.m.  – 6:00 p.m.  Market Street stores will be open New Year’s Eve from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and New Year’s Day, noon – 6 p.m.   Although most stores and restaurants will be closed on Christmas Day, Cinemark Theater will be open.  For a full list of restaurants that will be open on Thanksgiving and Christmas please visit the Market Street website.


Christmas Tree at Market StreetTwo-year-old Dylan Rivera of The Woodlands has been selected to light up Market Street and its 70-foot Christmas tree as part of the “Luxury in Lights” holiday spectacular to be held in Market Street’s Central Park on Thursday, November 21 at 6 pm.
With the help of his family and a countdown from the crowd, Dylan, who is fighting brain cancer and the youngest ever selected as Market Street’s “Lighting Luminary,” will flip the switch to officially kick off the holiday season and start Market Street’s three-minute holiday light show, a dazzling display of flashing, multi-colored lights synchronized to holiday songs.
