Employees from The Woodlands Development Company, Bridgeland (including mascot Bridgeland Bill), Howard Hughes Management Services, The Woodlands Resort and The Club at Carlton Woods participated in the Light the Night event in Market Street, benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Some team members were already lined up for the walk and missed the photo including lovable mascot of The Woodlands, Puffy Pine Cone®. The team brought in $5,651 for the nonprofit organization, exceeding the company goal by 13%.
Light The Night Walk is an annual walk and fundraising event benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Teams of friends and families or co-workers raise funds for cancer research and to provide services in their communities. The Light The Night Walk is an evening filled with inspiration. During this leisurely walk, participants carry illuminated balloons – white for survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer.
Thousands of walkers-men, women and children – form a community of caring, and bring light to the dark world of cancer. There is no registration fee. Walkers are encouraged to become a Champion for Cures by raising $100 or more to receive a t-shirt, balloon and food/refreshments.
LLS is making cures happen by providing patient support services, advocacy for lifesaving treatments and the most promising cancer research anywhere. And it’s all happening now. Not someday, today.
